Subject: Would you like that in a box? Or wrapped?
A film which explores, mainly through textiles, mainly shirts and shoes, the many tests the fabrics go through in order to meet Jc Penney's Oh So High Standards. While we get the (excuse the pun) run of the mill factory shots here, the shots of the merchandise as it's given to the customer after it's sold is the real highlight. Yes, items are wrapped in brown paper, stuff is folded just so, and people were given what could be called a shirt box to keep the shirts just so as well.. Kinda makes you think of good customer service then, where now everything is shoved into a plastic bag.
